Keep ambient light off the impact screen.
Projectors cannot create true black on a lit screen. Sunlight and fixture spill raise the screen’s black level, making dark areas look grey and reducing contrast. A brighter projector helps, but light control is usually the first improvement.
Shield the screen
Use the enclosure, side curtains, window covering, fixture shields, or track-light aiming to keep light from reaching the projection surface.
Light behind the ball
Place hitting-zone light far enough from the screen that its beam ends around the golfer and ball rather than the impact surface.

A light can look steady to your eyes and still produce bands or pulsing in recorded video. Dimming can make the problem more visible, and slow-motion recording is often the quickest practical test.
